How to Configure Twitter API for Magento

In this article you will learn how to find your Twitter API in order to setup the Twitter Login functionality. Please follow the step-by step instructions below.

Attention green.png Important Information:
  1. Before you proceed with creating a Twitter Application - first make sure you've added your mobile phone number to your Twitter profile. Please read this article for more information.

  1. Go to apps.twitter.com. This is an Application Management site, you will need to create new account or login.
  2. Click on "Create New App" button.

  1. Indicate the name for your application.
  2. Provide the description for your application.
  3. Indicate the website where you want this application to be used on.
  4. Indicate the Callback URL. It can be found in according field of your Admin Panel>Plumrocket>Social Login Pro (or Twitter&Facebook Login)>Twitter.
  5. Agree to the terms of the Developer Agreement by putting a tick on "Yes, I agree" button.
  6. Press on "Create your Twitter application" button.

  1. Now go to "Settings" section.
  2. Enter the Callback URL which is provided in the Twitter settings tab in the Magento Social Login Pro extension backend.
  3. Enter the Privacy Policy URL of your website.
  4. Check the "Allow this application to be used to Sign in with Twitter"checkbox.

  1. Choose the icon of the application.
  2. Enter the additional fields with the Organization information.
  3. Press the "Update settings" button to save your changes.

  1. Go to the "Permissions" tab.
  2. Choose the radio button of the relevant access does your application needs.
  3. Check the "Request email address from users" check box.
  4. Press the "Update settings" button to save your changes.

  1. Now go to "Keys and Access Tokens" section.
  2. Here you can see "Consumer Key (API Key)" of the application.
  3. Here you can see "Consumer Secret (API Secret)" of the application.

Twitter Integration in Magento Social Login Pro Extension

In this step you must update your Magento Social Login Pro Extension configuration. In your magento admin panel, go to "System" -> "Configuration" -> "Plumrocket Inc" -> "Social Login Pro" -> "Twitter" Tab.

  1. Paste Consumer Key (API Key) into the relevant field of your "Twitter" backend tab.
  2. Insert Consumer Secret (API Secret) key into the relevant field of your "Twitter" backend tab.
  3. Press "Save Config" to save your settings.

Configuration of Twitter magento social login application is now completed.

Twitter Integration in Magento 2 Social Login Pro Extension

In this step you must update your Magento 2 Social Login Pro Extension configuration. In your magento 2 admin panel, go to "Plumrocket" -> "Social Login Pro" -> "Configuration" section> "Twitter" tab.

  1. Paste Consumer Key (API Key) into the relevant field of your "Twitter" backend tab.
